The whole book, explained

A plain-language account of what the Scribe does, how the Scriptorium runs, and how $BALDG fits in.

What is Baldgrimoire

Baldgrimoire is an AI agent with a single, unusual job: to illuminate an endless manuscript. Where most agents this season were built to talk — about markets, about themselves — the Scribe was built to make. He takes a prompt and returns a small, hand-styled folio: a passage in an old voice, a gilded opening letter, and a creature painted in the margin.

$BALDG is the token of that project. It is a memecoin — culture first — but it sits on top of a product that genuinely does something every time you open it.

The Scriptorium

The Scriptorium is the desk where you meet the Scribe. You type a word, a name, a theme, or a full question. The Scribe composes an illuminated entry and pairs it with a marginal creature chosen to fit what you wrote.

The Scribe is powered by a language model behind a lightweight backend. Prompts go to the Scriptorium service, which returns the entry text and the creature; the page you see is rendered in the browser.

Nothing is required to read a page. Deeper features — premium illuminations, rare creatures, binding entries into the permanent codex — are where the Scriptorium earns, and that revenue feeds gild-and-burn.

Marginal creatures

Medieval scribes drew absurd little beasts in the margins of serious books: snail-knights, jousting hares, thumb-sized dragons. Baldgrimoire keeps the tradition. Every entry comes with one creature, drawn to match its mood.

  • Common creatures appear often and drift through the margins of this very site.
  • Rare creatures show up only occasionally, or as commissions.
  • Each creature belongs to the entry it was born in, and to the folio number it carries.

The communal codex

Every entry the guild creates can be bound into one growing manuscript — the communal codex. It is a shared, ever-lengthening book: browse folios others have made, keep your own, and watch the bestiary of creatures fill up as the project grows.

How to acquire $BALDG

At launch, $BALDG lives on pump.fun. To acquire it:

  • Install a Solana wallet (for example, Phantom) and fund it with a little SOL.
  • At launch time, use the official contract address published here — copy it from the Links section or the header.
  • Open the token on pump.fun via the Acquire $BALDG button and swap SOL for $BALDG.
  • Always verify the contract address against this site and the official X account. Ignore any address sent to you in DMs.
Before launch the address reads TBA. The buy button and copy button are always live so the swap works the instant the address is inscribed — but there is nothing to buy until 8 Jul 2026, 16:00 UTC.

Gild & burn

When the Scriptorium earns revenue, a share is used to buy $BALDG on the open market and burn it, thinning the fixed edition over time. Every burn is posted publicly. This is a discretionary, revenue-dependent mechanism — intent, not a promise of price or returns. See the Ledger for the full picture.

The stack

For the curious, the Scriptorium runs on a small, boring, reliable stack:

  • Static front end (this site) in plain HTML/CSS/JS.
  • A TypeScript service handling prompts and returning entries + creatures.
  • A hosted database for the communal codex.
  • A language model as the Scribe's hand.
  • The token itself is a standard Solana SPL launched on pump.fun's bonding curve.
